I thought of you over the weekend when I was weeding, etc. I managed to plant 3 ground cover plants but still have about 8 plants or bare roots I better do something with before they dry up and die. And extensive, extensive weeds everywhere. I also get a runny nose when I garden, BTW.

I always imagine your yard as lush with exotic plants.

That’s what I want! Not yet though ☺️

You know I love this! Thank you. Yesterday I bought five excellent new plants at Trader Joe’s so they can come die peacefully at the ranch. Maybe we can open a business called Plant Hospice where we haul off people’s dead plants and then convince them to buy a vial with some memorial ashes in it.

Excellent idea. Let’s start brainstorming business names.

Oh wait. You already have a name. I was thinking of something corny. like maybe “End of the Vine Plant Retirement."

This was an awesome read Joy! As a fellow plant killer myself, I want you to know that you’re not alone lol. I know I got it from my grandma because she loves plants more than anyone, yet her plants always died so quickly while she had a neighbor who has the nicest garden ever. Still, I’ll always admire my grandmas dedication to never give up.💪💪💪

Grandma used to say without one bit of irony that she had a black thumb. 🤣

haha!! I love grandma humour.

I think green thumb might mean “has gene to remember to water everyday” I have had a similar history of failure but a recent small turn-around because of the gene “remember to buy and setup drip irrigation system”.

The fact that I can’t grow jalapeños in ATX, but you can grow them on a roof in Tokyo is not lost on me.
